Meet Expert Surgeon — Dr. Faruq Badiuddin

Denoted as one of the early adapters of Minimally Invasive Surgery, Dr. Faruq M. Badiuddin, started his surgical career in India in 1982. After becoming a well-respected surgeon, he then migrated to the UK and Ireland in 1991 for Surgical Training in Laparoscopic Surgery. He was then conferred with the fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 1993. He further received training in Obesity Surgery at renowned training centers in Brussels, Belgium, Strasbourg, France, and at the prestigous Mount Sinai Hospital in New York.

Over the last 15 years, Dr. Faruq has been residing and practicing surgery in Dubai. He is an expert in Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery of all types, including Laparoscopic Hernia Surgery, Weight Loss Surgery (Bariatric), and Upper Gastrointestinal Surgery — including surgery for Gastro-Esophageal Reflux Disease.

Bloomfield Award for Excellence in Medical Education in 2008, Appreciation from Government of Dubai (leading and winning the bid for the 2018 Annual World Congress of the International Federation for the Surgery of Obesity), Appreciation Award from the Arab Health Congress for the Success of the 6th Middle East Cardiovascular and Interventional Conference in 2014, Appreciation from Government of Dubai for leading and winning the Bid for the 2018 Annual World Congress of the International Federation for the surgery of Obesity (IFSO) 2015, IFSO Appreciation Award at Vienna-Austria, Appreciation Award from Zulekha Hospital, and the Appreciation Award for presenting a Lecture for 2nd International Emirates Conference on Minimally Invasive Surgery in 2015.
