IUI in Cyprus

Intrauterine insemination (IUI) is a common infertility procedure that is designed to facilitate the sperm egg fertilization for the purpose of pregnancy.

Numerous UK and European patients travel for IVF Cyprus seeking intrauterine insemination to correct for a male infertility factor.

IUI in Cyprus can also be used with lesbian couples or single women wishing to become pregnant.

IUI has proven effective in many circumstances, including those in which a man has low sperm count or low sperm motility.

There are times when the sperm has difficulty passing though the woman’s cervical mucous; intrauterine insemination can also correct for that condition.

The intrauterine insemination conducted in Cyprus fertility clinics allows more high quality sperm to reach the egg, thus increases the probability of getting pregnant.  Timing of the insemination to coincide with ovulation is essential. In order to ensure this occurs, timing of ovulation is monitored by urinary hormone tracking techniques or sonogram.

Same-sex couples and single patients can use donor sperm in IUI when the sperm in the semen is nonexistent.

In this IVF technique, the male partner produces a semen sample that undergoes sperm washing where it is separated from seminal fluid and the most motile sperm is isolated.

The washed sperm is then inserted high in the woman’s uterus at the time she is most fertile to facilitate the sperm’s reach to female egg.  Sperm washing takes about 45 minutes to 2 hours depending on the technique utilized.
